Teaching gifted students can be one of the most endearing things you can experience as a teacher. However, it can also be a daunting task.
Definition:
• Gifted / talented students are those with outstanding abilities.
• These students are capable of higher performance when compared to others of similar age, experience, and environment.
Therefore, they are motivated, targeted, accelerated and high-achieving in learning.
A few principles of supporting motivated students are offered that go well together with Maslow’s pyramid (hierarchy of needs). My personal pedagogical priorities are illustrated by examples of activities with School 1208 students. A special aspect of the webinar deals with the opportunities provided by MELTA festivals.
